Directive regarding travel into the Town of Westerly from other States
March 24, 2020
The Town of Westerly is directing anyone traveling from out of state into the Town of Westerly, for residence, to consider a self-quarantine for a period of fourteen (14) days, particularly those residents coming from another state or city with a "shelter in place order" already in effect. This directive is in response to Governor Raimondo’s Executive Order 20-10, ordering that any person who returns to Rhode Island from domestic airline travel must self quarantine for a period of fourteen (14) days to reduce the spread of the COVID-19/coronavirus.
As for interstate commuters, Governor Raimondo again urged all employers to allow their employees to work from home to help reduce the number of people traveling between neighboring states. As this situation is evolving rapidly at all levels, the Town of Westerly needs the partnership and cooperation of all residents to help keep our community healthy and safe. As a result, we will continue to provide updates and if necessary further restrictions moving forward.
