[ARCHIVED] Coronavirus Prevention

The global and national scenario involving the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is evolving daily.  We want to let everyone know that the Town is continuously in contact with the RI Department of Health (RIDOH). We will continue to follow any and all guidance pertaining to the Coronavirus.

Because the human coronaviruses are most commonly spread through respiratory droplets, RIDOH recommends the same measures that prevent the spread of flu and other similar viruses:
•    Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
•    Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
•    Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
•    Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash, and wash your hands. If a tissue isn’t available cough and sneeze in your elbow.
•    Stay home if you are sick and keep children home from school if they are sick.
•    Stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone without the use of medication and you are well enough to resume normal activities.
•    Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
