TOWN OF WESTERLY, RHODE ISLAND
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM – SMALL CITIES – PROGRAM YEAR 2017
PUBLIC HEARING
Monday, May 14, 2018 – 6:00 p.m.
Westerly Town Hall – Town Council Chambers
45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI
On or about May 17, 2018, the Town of Westerly will be submitting an application to the Rhode Island Commerce Secretary, Office of Housing and Community Development, for funding under the federal Small Cities Community Block Grant program. The following activities are being considered for inclusion in the application:
North End Accessibility Improvements                    $72,500.00
Granite Hill Accessibility Improvements                  $79,000.00
Misquamicut Accessibility Improvements               $16,000.00
Administration                                                         $20,000.00
Grand Total                                                             $187,500.00
A Public Hearing on the proposed application will be held during the Town Council meeting on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers of Westerly Town Hall, 45 Broad Street, Westerly, RI in order to obtain the views of the public on the proposed application. The proposed application may be reviewed by the public in the Planning Office at Westerly Town Hall during all business hours (Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Comments may be submitted in writing to the Planning Office or by email at bdelaney@westerlyri.gov, or made at the Public Hearing. Following the Public Hearing, the Town Council will review public comment and finalize the application. Some items and proposed funding levels may change in response to comments and information received at the Public Hearing prior to approval by the Town Council.
Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must call (401) 348-2550 or (401) 596-2022 (V/TDD) at least 72 hours in advance of the hearing date.
