[ARCHIVED] Town Welcomes New Hires

Robert Heath from Niantic, Connecticut, has been selected as one of Westerly’s next Laborers.


Mr. Heath will start his new role on Monday, January 29, 2018.


Robert has worked for Foxwoods Casino where he was a Maintenance Technician. He was responsible for window and door assembly, carpentry, repair, replacement and adjustment of defective parts, snow plow removal and grounds maintenance. He held similar roles at A & W Home Improvement and Landings Real Estate. Robert has a Class B CDL with a Tanker Endorsement, is EPA Certified Core I, Forklift Operator Certified and CPR/AED Certified.


“Mr. Heath will be a welcome addition to our already exceptional staff in Public Works. I look forward to working with Mr. Heath for the near and foreseeable future”, said Paul Corina, Director of Public Works.


As a Laborer, Robert will be responsible for performing general labor involved in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of Town properties including sewer and water lines, highways, sidewalks, public buildings, and performs custodial services, as required, in all Town buildings.

Marco Carreiro from Swansea, Massachusetts, has been selected as one of Westerly’s next Laborers.


Mr. Carreiro will start his new role on Monday, January 29, 2018.


Marco has worked at Kenyon Industries where he has been a Laborer for over 15 years. He was responsible for the setup, running, inspecting and sewing of cloth, quality control of cloth, weighing and packing batches of product and using a forklift to palletize and store product for shipping. Marco has a Class A CDL.


“Mr.Carreiro will be a welcome addition to our exceptional staff in the Utilities Division of Public Works. I look forward to working with Mr. Carreiro on all aspects of the Water and Sewer operations, now and in the foreseeable future”, said Paul Corina, Director of Public Works.
