Lawrence Harris from Westerly, Rhode Island, has been selected as Westerly’s next IT Technician II.
Mr. Harris started his new role on Monday, October 16, 2017.
Lawrence has worked for Carousel Industries as a Convergence Technician. In his role, he was responsible for troubleshooting and quality assurance of Avaya telecommunication equipment, and configuration of legacy and current communication manager software. Prior to that, Lawrence worked for South County Hospital where his main focus was servicing and maintenance of home medical equipment. Lawrence is A+ and ACIS certified, and will be receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science by calendar year end.
“I am delighted to welcome Mr. Harris to our organization. We interviewed several talented candidates but in the end his technical aptitude and professionalism made him stand out,” said Director of Information Technology Marc Tate. “His experience with IP Telephony, training and support is a welcome addition to our department.”
As the IT Technician II, he is responsible for support in all areas of IT including, desk support to assist end users in resolving hardware and software issues, performing troubleshooting activities, installation and maintenance and repairing of computer systems and networks.
Patty Main from Westerly, Rhode Island, has been selected as Westerly’s next Senior Payroll and HRIS Specialist.
Ms. Main started her new role on Monday, October 16, 2017.
Patty has worked for Westerly Public Schools since 2004. In her role, she was responsible for bi-weekly payroll for all School staff. She was also responsible for implementing several modules of the Town and Schools ERP system MUNIS. Prior to working for Westerly Public Schools, Patty worked for Bess Eaton Donuts, where she was responsible for processing payroll for 1000+ employees per week and reporting and tracking worker’s compensation, and coordinating all benefits. During her time at Bess Eaton, Patty managed the and implemented several automated ERP systems including ADP, and HR Perspectives.
“I am excited to have Patty join the Department of Human Resources. Her vast experience with payroll and implementing modules of various ERP systems will be an asset as the Town and School start to utilize more modules in MUNIS,” said Director of Human Resources Joshua Putman. “I look forward to working with Patty on implementing the Town’s new timekeeping system KRONOS.”
As the Senior Payroll and HRIS Specialist, she is responsible for performing a variety of complex administrative, technical and professional work in Payroll and HRIS administration, including overseeing the payroll processes for the Town and School and evaluating the MUNIS ERP system for efficiency gains in the areas of HR and payroll.
Neariah Jarvis from Mystic, Connecticut, has been selected as Westerly’s next Payroll Assistant.
Mr. Jarvis will start his new role on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Neariah recently completed his tax accounting internship with Garvey, Steele & Company, LLP, where he was responsible for converting scanned tax return documents into assorted data and completing tax returns, both individual and joint, using Ultra Tax CS and CS FileCabinet. Mr. Jarvis also worked an as account clerk at Easter Seals, where he was responsible for reporting data on fixed assets, processing payroll, bank reconciliations, revenue analysis reports, accounts payable, and journal entries utilizing the PeopleSoft ERP system. Neariah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University, where he graduated Cum Laude.
“Neariah’s finance and accounting background is a perfect fit for the Payroll Assistant position,” said Director of Human Resources Joshua Putman. “We look forward to him joining our team.”
In Neariah’s new role, he will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and technical work in payroll preparation and processing.
Marianne Morgan from Westerly, Rhode Island, has been selected as one of Westerly’s next Account Payable Coordinators.
Ms. Morgan will start her new role on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Marianne was previously an Accounts Payable Coordinator in the Town and School’s consolidated Finance Department, where she was responsible for performing all A/P functions for the Town utilizing the MUNIS ERP system. Prior to joining the Town, Marianne worked for Apple Rehab Clipper and Apple Rehab Watch Hill as an HR Coordinator, where she was responsible for all HR functions. Marianne was also responsible for coordinating all accounts payable by processing all invoices and paying vendors in a timely manner as well as processing payroll for approximately 85 employees weekly. Marianne holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University.
”Marianne has been a valued member of the consolidated Finance Department,” said Barbara J. Perino, Interim Finance Director. “Her knowledge, professionalism and work ethic will make for a seamless transition to the Town’s Finance team.”
In Marianne’s new role, she will be responsible for performing administrative and complex fiscal work in all aspects of Accounts Payable, including issuing purchase orders, processing all accounts payable balances, working with senior departmental staff on drafting standard operating procedures and processing documents in all areas of accounts payable.
Terri Dipallina from Waterford, Connecticut, has been selected as one of Westerly’s next Account Payable Coordinators.
Ms. Dipallina will start her new role on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Terri was previously an Accountant with Sound Community Services, where she was responsible for reconciling the general ledger accounts for month end close, daily cash reconciliation and reporting for multiple cash accounts and processing accounts receivables. Prior to that Terri, was a Staff Accountant with Tantor Media, where she was responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts for month end close, managing the accounts payable process, including the supervisor of A/P staff, processing payroll for eighty employees and creating accounting reports utilizing ADP. Prior to Tantor Media, Ms. Dipallina was a Staff Accountant with Rand Whitney Containerboard, where she was responsible for all accounts receivables and payables, processing journal entries, maintaining vendor accounts, and providing financial audit support. Terri holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University.
“Terri brings a broad range of financial experience to the position,” stated Barbara J. Perino, Interim Director of Finance. “We look forward to working with her as she joins the Town’s Finance Department.”

Andrew St. Clair from Bradford, Rhode Island, has been selected as Westerly’s next Custodian.
Mr. St. Clair will start his new role on Monday, November 13, 2017.
Andrew was previously the Maintenance Director with the Westerly Nursing Home, where he was responsible for developing and executing the layout and installation of electrical wiring and fixtures based on job terms and Town regulations, he also was responsible for a wide variety of duties including, pipe fitting, painting, carpentry, electrical repair, installation and building repair. As the Maintenance Director, Mr. St. Clair was also responsible for communicating operational issues and changes to the facility administrator, and meeting production goals by maintaining cost effective levels of spare parts inventory.
“Andrew will be a welcome addition to our already efficient staff in Public Works. I look forward to working with Andrew on growing with the Town for the near and foreseeable future,” said Paul Corina, Director of Public Works.
In Andrew’s new role, he will be responsible for performing general labor involved in the construction, installation, maintenance and repairs of town properties as well as providing custodial duties at the Department of Public Works – Utilities and Animal Shelter.
Erin Guido from Carolina, Rhode Island, has been selected as Westerly’s next Finance Assistant.
Ms. Guido will start her new role on Monday, November 6, 2017.
Erin previous worked a variety of temporary positions with Westerly Public Schools, with her most recent assignment as the Temporary Accounts Payable Coordinator in the Finance Department. Erin was responsible for processing and reviewing account payable balances, assisting with fiscal year-end duties and assisting with the implementation of OpenGov to achieve improved reporting and comprehensive transparency for the public. Prior to working for the Schools, Erin worked as a server with the Twisted Vine where she was responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by remaining accessible and friendly and for carrying a cash bank and performing credit card billing functions. Prior to the Twisted Vine, Erin worked as a Branch Rental Manager for Ryder Transportation, where she was responsible for analysis and accuracy of profit and loss statements, continuously monitor high volumes of vehicles and providing customer service. Erin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island.
“Erin’s previous work experience will prove valuable to her new role in the Town’s Finance Department,” stated Barbara J. Perino. “She is a motivated individual and we are looking forward to having her as part of our new team!”
In Erin’s new role, she will be responsible for providing basis accounting and administrative support tasks, which includes providing administrative support to the Department, working on a variety of financial and accounting projects assigned by the Department Head.
