Danilo (Danny) Agsalog from Kahului, Hawaii, has been selected as Westerly’s next Director of Finance.
Mr. Agsalog will start his new role on October 2, 2017.
Danny has extensive municipal experience throughout Hawaii having worked for the County of Maui and City & County of Honolulu. In his most recent position, he served as the Director of Finance for the County of Maui, Hawaii, where he was responsible for the implementation of a $620 million annual budget a $300 million investment portfolio and managing all debts amounting to $317.7 million. He also served as the County of Maui’s Budget Director where he successfully developed and implemented program-based budgeting and successfully increased the general fund balance savings from $4.4 million to $30 million. Danny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii and a Master’s of Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. He is also a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Government Finance Officers Association.
“Mr. Agsalog’s extensive background in municipal finance will be an asset for the Town,” said Town Manager Derrik Kennedy. “We look forward to him joining our team and leading the new finance department.”
In Danny’s new role, he will be responsible for directing all municipal financial functions which includes program responsibility for accounting and auditing, accounts payables and receivables, budget, fiscal grants management and formulating broad financial policies and procedures for the Town.
