Westerly Animal Shelter welcomes everyone who is considering adopting a shelter animal. Our successful adoption program is based on matching the needs of our animals with the lifestyles of our adopters.
Dogs and cats available for adoption have all been examined by a veterinarian and are up to date on vaccinations appropriate for their age. All dogs have also been administered a flea and tick treatment. All cats have been Feline Aids/Leukemia tested, dewormed and administered a flea treatment.
All dogs and cats adopted from the shelter are spayed or neutered prior to leaving our facility in accordance to Rhode Island law. Our dogs and cats are fed Hill’s Science Diet food while at the shelter.

Hill's Science Diet Shelter
Westerly Animal Shelter is proud to be a Hill's Science Diet Shelter. Our shelter dogs and cats are fed a nutritious diet of Hill's food during their stay with us.
All adoptable dogs, cats and small critters receive a preliminary health examination from Dr. Catherine Moore, our shelter veterinarian while here at the Westerly Animal Shelter. Vaccination and known medical histories will be noted on the adoption contract.
