Architectural Review Board
The Architectural Review Board is established by the Town Charter and serves to provide advisory opinions to the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Review with regard to the design of buildings, structures, landscaping and site layout of proposed commercial, industrial and multi-family residential development projects. The Board's reviews are intended to better ensure these projects are in harmony with Westerly's existing architectural heritage and will promote, encourage and improve the appearance, beauty and character of the individual historic villages within our community.

Assessment Review, Board of
The Board of Assessment Review is a quasi-judicial body comprised of three (3) members and one (1) alternate member appointed by the Town Council on a bipartisan basis. The Board is charged with the duty of hearing appeals on assessments from aggrieved taxpayers, and reviewing and correcting valuations set by the Assessor. It is not within the purview of the Board of Assessment Review to make decisions as to the question of the legality of an assessment.

Bike Path and Cycling Advisory Commission
Established by the Town Council in January 2018 with the purpose to promote cycling throughout the community and to advise the Town Council, Planning Board, Town Manager, Department of Development Services and Department of Public Works on matters pertaining to bike infrastructure and cycling.

Canvassers, Board of
Under the direction of the State Board of Elections and in cooperation with Secretary of State, the Board ensures that elections are properly managed and conducted in accordance with town, state and federal election law.

Concerts On The Beach
Committee assists the Recreation Department with the development and implementation of the summer concert series (Tunes on the Dunes). This committee helps to select the bands that play at this event, helps to secure additional private funding to augment the town funds used to produce this event, and provides day of coverage to assist the bands and sound technician with set up and take down.

Veterans Memorial Committee
There is hereby created a Veterans ‘Rolls of Honor’ Memorial Committee, created pursuant to Section § 30-28-8 of the Rhode Island General Laws, the purpose of which is to prepare rolls of honor containing the names of persons who are in the service of the United States during the period of any war in which the country is participating, and to appoint a committee to be known as the Veterans ‘Rolls of Honor’ Memorial Committee whose duty it shall be to prepare and post the rolls of honor, and to monitor the care and condition of any public Veterans Memorials and Monuments.
