Paul Corina currently serves as the Town’s Director of Public Works.
Paul has over forty-two years in his profession, with the entire time being in municipal government working for the Town of Westerly. He is actively engaged in his profession by being a member of the Rhode Island Public Works Association, Rhode Island Water Works, and New England Water Works. Paul has a State of Rhode Island Water Distribution Class 3 license and Water Treatment license Class 2. He also has a State of Connecticut Water Distribution Class 3 license and a Water Treatment License Class 2. Paul attends a variety of seminars and classes to ensure his CEU’s are met. Paul has held a variety of jobs at the Town of Westerly starting as a laborer in Utilities and has the distinction of being the only employee to work every single position in the Water and Utilities division of Public Works. Paul has been the contributing editor in a Water World publication regarding the design and implementation of the MIOX system, and was responsible for implementing the first water system in Rhode Island to use the MIOX disinfection system.
In Paul’s role, he is responsible for directing, managing and planning the work in all areas of public works department including Engineering, Utilities, and Public Works Operations.
Paul has been married to his wife Valerie for 43 years and they reside in Westerly. They have two children, Brian and Amy and have 6 grandchildren.
