BCBSRI - HSA Transition
Reminder, all employees who are on the HSA, that BCBSRI is transitioning from Bancorp Bank to UMB Bank. By now all affected employees should have received notification in the mail regarding this change with the timetable of events.

It is time for the Town’s annual Open Enrollment for benefits.Changes can be made to Medical, Dental, Supplemental Life Insurance, AFLAC, 401 or 457 plans.

The group presentation will be held in Council Chambers and will be an overview of all the programs AFLAC offers. Individuals interested in learning about AFLAC are encouraged to attend.
Change of Contact Information
Please keep in mind if you have moved, or changed your phone number, please keep HR informed of such changes.
The Wellness Program’s current discount will still be in effect throughout the plan year of July 1, 2017 – June 30, 2018.
To be eligible for the Wellness Incentive for the July 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019 year, you and all adult members (individual over the age of 18) of your family will need to complete an annual physical and an Annual Physical Exam Verification form. The Town will not collect any PHI or any medical records, just confirmation that the routine medical exam was completed.
Health Insurance Rate Increase Date Effective
All rates are effective July 1, 2017 and are posted on the Town’s HR website.
Employee Buyback Program – Alternative Health Insurance Coverage
The Town offers employees who have alternative health insurance coverage through an employer other than the Town, an employee buyback. The buyback is paid twice a year, once in June and once in December. To be eligible, employees must show proof of alternative coverage each buyback period.

How the Program Works:
As part of the Town’s voluntary wellness program, the Town has partnered with Westerly Fitness, to provide a payroll deduction, gym fee reimbursement program. Employees who enroll in this program, will be reimbursed *$10.00 per month of their monthly membership fee. This is a pilot program funded for FY17-18. Continuation of this program beyond June 2018, is contingent upon continued funding.
*Gym reimbursements are considered taxable income by the IRS. Employees who participate in this program, will see this reflected on their paycheck.
The first 15 regular, full-time employees, who join Westerly Fitness as a new member from June 19th, 2017 – July 7th, 2017. To participate in the Gym Reimbursement Program, employees must sign-up for payroll deduction.
Employees who are interested in signing-up, can do so by going to Westerly Fitness, telling them you are a Town employee, and completing the necessary enrollment paperwork. Once HR receives the enrollment paperwork, employees will be required to complete the payroll deduction agreement.
Westerly Fitness Preview:
Employees who are interested in evaluating all the offerings of Westerly Fitness can do so during the Westerly Fitness Open House. From June 19th – July 2nd, Westerly Fitness will be hosting an open house for all Town employees. When visiting Westerly Fitness, just tell them you are a Town of Westerly employee and you will have free access to the facilities. Employees will be required to complete a waiver.
