Substance Abuse Task Force

Responsibility.
A.  Such Task Force is charged with the responsibility to lead the Town of Westerly in substance abuse prevention activities by utilizing a variety of strategies and resources. Such activities shall be conducted in partnership with multiple sectors of the community, including but not limited to the Westerly School Department and Police Department; entities providing behavior health services such as Westerly Hospital; and organizations providing recreational activities such as the Westerly Recreation Commission and the Ocean Community YMCA.
B. Bylaws. The Task Force shall adopt bylaws in accordance with the Rhode Island Substance Abuse Prevention Act.
C.  Meetings. The Task Force shall formally meet at least quarterly.
D.  Reporting requirements.
(1)  On at least a semiannual basis, the Task Force shall prepare and submit a written report of its activities to and appear before the Westerly Town Council.
(2)  The Task Force shall prepare and submit, in a timely fashion, and subject to the directives and approval of the Town Manager, all reports required of it by the terms of all current grants and other funders of its activities.
