The Westerly Information Technology Department will support the general government operations through the use of high quality technology and innovative solutions.

Department Description:
The Information Technology Department provides technology solutions and services utilized by general government operations. The department is responsible for hardware support, managing online services, system administration, long range technology planning, software integration, website management and management of the geographic information system.
2020 – 2021 Objectives
• Implement integrated document management system for the Finance department
• Scanning and indexing of all 1980s and 1990s Assessor cards 
• Scanning and indexing of Planning and Zoning records
• Additional Online Permits
• Complete implementation of new Tax Collection and Tax Admin software
• Implement new system for citizens to report concerns

2019 – 2020 Completed Objectives
• Deploy Work order tracking and reporting for town infrastructure
• Deploy  Work order tracking and reporting for town facilities
• Catch basin/drainage system inventory and GIS data creation
• Improve processes for minute and agenda posting
• Finance integration for the time and attendance system
• Grants and Project Install / Maintenance
• Deploy Contract and Lease Management Software
• Updated GIS Mapping planimetric information for Structures and impervious surfaces
• Upgraded server infrastructure
• Implemented new E-mail archive system

• Deployed secure GIS service for staff to access secure information
• Deployed new financial system reporting software
• Deployed time and attendance system

• Council chambers audio upgrade
• Deploy remote environment monitoring hardware for IT equipment
• Phone system upgrade for Town Hall, DPW, Water Department and Transfer Station

• Implement document management solution to reduce paper
