The Finance Department is responsible for the tax billing and collection of taxes and other revenues, disbursements of payment obligations and debt management, cash management and payroll administration.

  • A drop-off box for tax and water/sewer payments is located behind the Town Hall.
  • Taxpayers are able to pay property tax by using credit cards.

The Town of Westerly identification number for payment of taxes by credit cards is No. 4910.



Subsidy Applications

The Town of Westerly 2026-2027 Subsidy application process is now open!

REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY NOVEMBER 15, 2025. REQUESTS SUBMITTED AFTER THIS DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

 The following information will guide you in submitting a request: 

1. Complete the Subsidy Application (see links below):

 a. Please include your current year award and its uses (if applicable) and the amount you are requesting for 2026-2027 and how that will benefit the Westerly community.

 b. A copy of your organization’s most recent IRS Form 990. If your organization is exempt from filing or reporting, please state so with the corresponding exemption information.

 c. If available, a copy of your most recent audited financial statements along with the auditor’s management letter or a statement indicating that you do not engage outside auditors to prepare statements.
